Being able to visit Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan made me realize how I would love to be an interior designer in my next life.
I don’t know if it had anything to do with my dad being a civil engineer but I’ve always been lowkey fascinated with structures. It started with churches when I was younger and has now expanded up to modern contemporary houses.
Philippine-Spanish colonial aesthetics is one my personal favorites. Las Casas is a champion of preserving that Spanish influence. What they did with the houses that they bring into the resort was not only a really cool way of preserving the actual structure, it was also a great means of keeping alive the history that came with them for the future.
If you want to walk on cobblestone streets, taste authentic Filipino food, see cultural shows, enjoy the beach and enter ‘old school’ houses, Las Casas is the place for you.
